Job Description: Executive Director  



REPORTS TO: Paulding Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

STATUS: Full-time exempt, plus commission (30 hours per week)

GENERAL FUNCTION: The Executive Director is hired by and is responsible to the Chamber's Board of Directors and is responsible for the day-to-day management of all Chamber functions and for carrying out policies and duties established by the Board through an annual program of action.

Individual must be a driven and organized self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, event planning experience and have good time management skills. Must be proficient in Office Suite programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and have at least a working understanding of QuickBooks. A bachelorís degree or at least five yearsí experience in a related field is preferred. Applicant must have a valid driverís license, clean driving record and access to an insured vehicle. Preference will be given to a Paulding resident.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: In accordance with Chamber bylaws, policies, and annual performance goals established by the Board of Directors, and with appropriate delegation, the Executive Director shall:

  • Develop and implement an effective plan for membership development and membership services

  • Develop, implement and maintain effective communications and programs responsive to the needs of the membership

  • Manage the finances of the Chamber, working closely with the board treasurer and finance committee, including timely delivery of monthly financial reports to the board, preparation of the annual budget, approval of disbursements, signing or co-signing checks with an officerís approval and maintaining general control of expenditures and fundraising

  • Manage the implementation of the Flat Rock Creek Fall Festival to take place each fall 

  • Manage events as set by the Board of Directors

  • Plan and coordinate meetings of the Board of Directors and others affiliated with the Chamber

  • Provide written reports to the Board of Directors with recommendation as needed

  • Manage and staff the Chamber office in Paulding

  • Monitor and assist committees of the Chamber

  • Maintain the legal integrity of the Chamber

  • Other duties as assigned
